POPULATION SERVED: Adults
SERVICES PROVIDED: Job search, counseling, skills retraining, entry-level skills training, literacy and English as a Second Language instruction, employability skills instruction, and life skills instruction
ADMINISTRATIVE AGENCY: Department of Labor
ELIGIBLE SERVICE PROVIDERS: The 33 service delivery areas in New York State, who then may subcontract to providers of employment and training services, including community-based organizations, local education agencies, private employers, BOCES, and labor unions
SOURCE OF FUNDING: Federal
AUTHORIZATION: Federal Statute: Job Training Partnership Act, Title III, Part B (Public Law 97-300)
DESCRIPTION: Provides financial assistance in response to mass layoffs, industry dislocations and multi-state dislocations as well as for demonstration and special projects addressing national and regional concerns.
