NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING


SUBJECT:

The plans and progress of West Side Manhattan redevelopment as implemented by the relevant State public authorities and other public benefit corporations.

PURPOSE:

This hearing will examine the expansion of the Jacob Javits Convention Center, the extension of the 7 line of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) subway, the development of the MTA's West Manhattan rail yards (Hudson Yards), the Moynihan Station development project, the Access to the Region's Core (ARC) project, a new boulevard between 10th and 11th Avenues, and the progress of these projects.

ORAL TESTIMONY WILL BE BY INVITATION ONLY


The Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC), Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PA), and other public benefit corporations, are formulating plans for several projects related to the redevelopment of Manhattan's West Side. These projects include: the expansion of the Jacob Javits Convention Center, the extension of the number 7 subway line, the development of Manhattan's Hudson Yards, the Moynihan Station development project, the ARC project, and construction of a new boulevard between 10th and 11th Avenues.

This hearing will provide the Committee with an opportunity to obtain information on the specific details associated with the plans for these projects, including prospective financing of each project, the advancement of such plans, and other issues related to the implementation of such plans.

Ten copies of any prepared testimony should be submitted at the hearing registration desk. The Committees would appreciate advance receipt of prepared statements.

In order to further publicize these hearings, please inform interested parties and organizations of the Committee's interest in considering testimony from all sources.
