Legislative Update from the New York State Assembly Committee on Small Business

Below are the activities of the Assembly Small Business Committee thru the month of May 2010. As you can see from the following list of bills that came through the Small Business Committee, we have made some progress in our efforts to bring improvements to the small business community. A.1196 (Destito) This act ensures small businesses compliance with Federal environmental regulations. The bill establishes a fund to assist small businesses to meet minimum standards for compliance with Federal regulations. This money is provided to small businesses and MWBEs at low or no interest. S.4841-A (Aubertine)
This bill will ease the burden on small businesses so that they may finance the installation of telephone services. Advanced to third reading in the Assembly A.9808 (Cook) This bill will provide assistance to not-for-profit sponsors of small-scale food processing facilities. It also establishes a kitchen incubator/shared use kitchen facility program within the Urban Development Corporation. Report to Ways and Means
