Agency Mission

The Office of Advocate for Persons with Disabilities (OAPD) provides information and referral services to persons with disabilities. Referrals are made through a statewide hotline and computer website. Together with the Department of Health, OAPD funds an Interagency Partnership on Assistive Technology and thirteen regional centers which help persons with disabilities to gain access to technology devices and services, and to learn about emerging technology, the services and programs available to them, and their rights under law.

Year-to-Year Change

The Executive recommends an All Funds appropriation of $1,590,000, a net decrease of $131,000, or 7.61 percent. The change is primarily attributable to the loss of one position through attrition and the availability of a free internet website to replace an electronic bulletin board.

Legislative Changes

The Assembly makes no changes to the Executive's proposal.
