Speaker Heastie Continues Statewide Tour in Franklin County

1 / 2
Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie today continued his annual statewide tour in Franklin County, where he was joined by Assemblymember Billy Jones. Together, they toured the Wild Center in Tupper Lake.

"This statewide tour gives me the opportunity to see and to experience all that New York State has to offer," Speaker Heastie said. "The North Country is an integral part of our state's history, economy and environment. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to visit the Wild Center and see the innovative way they are connecting visitors to the ecological importance and beauty of the Adirondack Park."

"The Wild Center captures the Adirondacks true beauty and the importance of the North Country to our state," Assemblymember Jones said. "I am so glad Speaker Heastie was able to experience the Wild Center's unique ability to immerse New Yorkers and visitors from all over in the natural wonder of the North Country."

The Wild Center was founded on the idea that people and the natural world can thrive together, and is dedicated to helping visitors explore not just a small collection, but one that lives and breathes across the entire Adirondacks. The space includes indoor exhibits and a range of outdoor experiences, which include canoeing, paddleboarding and the wild walk trail through the treetops. The Wild Center's science-based experiences, exhibits and programs are designed to open new ways to look into natural scientists' newest discoveries. Speaker Heastie and Assemblymember Jones were joined by local elected officials, as well as members of the Franklin County business and educational communities.
