I congratulate Michael Mulgrew on his reelection as president of the United Federation of Teachers. Michael has been a staunch advocate for our students, their families, our teachers, and our schools. With this action, the federation's membership has given him a clear mandate to lead.

I look forward to working with Michael and his team during his second tenure to address the challenges facing New York's education system. Under Michael's continued leadership, I know the UFT will work tirelessly to ensure the academic success of our next generation, our greatest resource.
