Denis Hughes has been a tireless advocate on behalf of working men and women throughout New York State for more than 25 years. I was fortunate to work closely with him on countless issues important to labor during that time. As the President of New York's AFL-CIO, Denis Hughes embodied the very essence of the labor movement - fighting to improve the lives of working people everywhere. While Denis' leadership will be greatly missed, I know he will continue to work to ensure good jobs and a stable economic future for New York and the country.
