"As New Yorkers face the continued loss of their jobs, homes and health care from this recession, while enduring the highest taxes in our nation, I believe same sex marriage should not be a priority for Governor Paterson, or the Legislature. Instead of spending his time and energy advocating for same sex marriage, the Governor should be discussing how we can put New Yorkers back to work, create more private sector jobs, get our economy moving again, along with capping and lowering property taxes. Those are the urgent priorities that should command the Governor and the Legislature's attention."
