Statement from Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco
(R,C,I-Schenectady-Saratoga)

"On Thursday night, our good friend and colleague Assemblyman Tom Kirwan was suddenly struck ill and immediately rushed to St. Luke's Cornwall Newburgh Campus. After a careful examination and at the recommendation of his caregivers, Tom was taken directly to Lennox Hill Hospital in New York City for treatment.

Assemblyman Kirwan was treated for a recurring condition that previously affected him. He is in stable condition. The good news is that he will be receiving a pacemaker, is expected to make a full recovery and will soon be back at work serving his constituents.

I know I speak for everyone who knows, loves and respects Assemblyman Tom Kirwan when I offer my hopes and prayers to him for a full and speedy recovery. As Assemblyman Kirwan heals, his staff will continue working hard to meet any requests for assistance from residents of the 100th Assembly District. Our entire Assembly Minority Conference sends its best wishes for Tom to get well soon and is keeping him, along with his wife Verna and their children, Victoria and Matthew, in our daily thoughts."
