Statement from Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco

"Unfortunately, the old adage one step forward, two steps back is a good description of where we find ourselves today. After several legislative victories early in the year, the budget process has knocked the reform train off the tracks. This budget spends too much, borrows too much, taxes too much and reforms too little. The process of putting it together was even worse. Done behind closed doors and at the last minute, lawmakers were ultimately given more than 5,000 pages of bill copy to read minutes before they were expected to vote on the budget. If ever an area of New York State government was in critical need of reform it's in the fat and the farce of the budget process."

Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco voted NO on the budget, except the education bill.
