Approved the Gas Tax Cap!

Could Save Motorists $450 million

In April, the Assembly Minority Conference proposed placing a cap on the gasoline sales tax for any amount above $2.00 per gallon. Due to our efforts and the outcry of motorists, the Legislature passed this proposal which is estimated to save motorists up to $.10 per gallon, which adds up to $450 million kept in taxpayers’ pockets.

The Assembly Minority Conference is Promoting Research, Development and Use of Alternative Energy Fuels.

In order for us to be free from our dependence on foreign oil, we must develop, research and use alternative energy fuels such as ethanol and bio-diesel. That’s why our plan calls for the creation of an Alternative Fuel Incentive Fund to support tax credits for buying hybrid or fuel-flexible vehicles, businesses for the installation or conversion of fueling stations for alternative fuels, research grants and development of alternative fuels.
