Curran Announces Funding for Lynbrook Pool

Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st A.D.) announced today to Lynbrook residents that he has been successful in acquiring a $75,000 state grant for improvements to the Lynbrook Pool at Greis Park. Curran, a Lynbrook resident, has an affinity for the pool, as he has been a patron there for many years with his family.

“The Lynbrook Pool has been an asset to the Lynbrook community for many years and I’m pleased I can secure these funds to keep Lynbrook a wholesome place to raise a family,” Curran said.

Curran, a former Lynbrook mayor and having the distinction of reducing taxes, struggled to keep state funding in the local communities he represents such as Baldwin, Freeport, Rockville Centre, Oceanside, South Hempstead, Valley Stream and East Rockaway.

Mayor Alan Beach, pleased with the good news, said the funds will be used to offset the cost of a new deck shade structure at the pool. The enhancement will be one of a few of the improvements to the pool planned for this season.

“Last season, the pool had over 22,000 happy patrons of all ages, and we appreciate the continued hard work of the Assemblyman,” Beach said.
